I NEED SOME HELP HERE- THE ATTORNEY VISIT
Pick One: Which approach to you would put you at ease and agreeable?
1. Could I get some help here?
2. Excuse me, I've been waiting for awhile now.
3. I'd like some assistance. I need to see Attorney "So and So",
4. I wonder if you could help me out.
Of course, it's number 4. "I wonder if you could help me out. " People like to help others. It offers a non-threatening situation and reduces the chance of confrontation. Your
attitude toward the person at the desk may determine whether or not you get to see
the attorney or person you are approaching
Also, the "person at the desk" may not be helpful at all.
So, then what?
1. Come back at lunch time (Secretary may be out)
2. Call after hours. This is usually when no one is in except the attorney.
3. Send a letter via priority mail and hand addressed.
Briefly describe what you can do for the firm. Conclude with a request to
visit on a particular date and time to briefly explain your services.
Calling is tough. It takes courage to pick up that phone; you are easily rejected. You must talk with
wonderfully polite people and those who are not so nice. So what if the person is not nice and be glad
when they are. Be confident in your service and keep dialing.
